African Hair Braiding by Hawa

I went looking for braids for my upcoming trip and decided on Fulani braids. First, parking is very easy to find. You can park right in front of the shop or in the parking garage that is right next to the shop. She was very accommodating and did a wonderful job with the design that I wanted with this style. In addition, install beads in my hair when asked. The best part is the cost which was great and I’m just in love with the style as this is my first time getting this type of style. I plan on coming back again for my next braiding style and recommend it to others!

I love taking my daughter to Hawa's! Her hair is always done the way she likes it and quickly. The staff is also very kind.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I booked soft bohemian locs and was told the price would be $180. Upon arrival, the lady who started my hair did 2 locs and decided she was going to charge more because my hair was “longer than expected “. She changed the price to $220. Ok now I am not tender-headed, but I was on the verge of tears! on how tight she was doing my hair. I spoke out and she would just say “sorry” and not change anything. I believe her boss came and they both were doing my hair at the same time, very tightly, very painfully. I would then express how much my head was hurting and she said, word for word. “I’m sorry, it’s not easy”. I noticed they were also sealing the wrapped hair with nail glue but I didn’t think it would be a problem. My head was on fire for 2 weeks straight.

We were referred to Hawa by my sister, who has been a client here for several years. My daughter and I wanted knotless medium braids with wavy ends. The braiders were professional, kind, clean and truly ARTISTS! By far the most beautiful braid job we have had in years. The suite was clean and professionally apportioned. Parking was simple-silver spring municipal parking right across the street. We will be life long clients!! Highly recommend. We came all the way from Northern VA-only a 40 min drive! We will be back!❤️🙏🏾

I had an amazing experience at this braiding shop! The staff was super friendly and professional. They really listened to what I wanted and offered great suggestions. My braids look absolutely gorgeous, and I've gotten so many compliments. The prices are reasonable, and the shop is clean and comfortable.
