Alton Barbershop

NOT LGBTQ+ FRIENDLY I don’t usually post reviews but I didn’t feel safe here. I wanted to try a new barber, so I walked in and sat down. But while I was waiting, I realized the barber and the client he was finishing up with were watching the far-right channel NewsMax, specifically a segment with hateful rhetoric about trans people. So I walked out before it was my turn. I didn’t get the chance to see how good his haircuts are, but being queer and Jewish, I wouldn’t have felt safe with that man holding a razor to my throat. Definitely avoid if you’re anyone demonized by far-right news

I love this place. I always go to Irina. After the first haircut, about three years ago, my wife does not let me go anywhere else. Irina is very busy but she would always accommodate. She works fast and is very professional. I really like what I see in the mirror after I go there. The haircut stays in shape longer. Highly recommended.

Fantastic place! Great haircuts at affordable price! Regular men's cut cost $30 plus tip. Irina is very attentive and professional. We have great conversations every time I visit the place. Highly recommended.

Fantastic barbershop, masterful barbers. They consistently do my hair exactly how I want it, and in the couple years that I have been coming here, not once did I leave the barbershop dissatisfied with my cut. Not only that, but their pricing is fantastic. You could get a great haircut for just 25 dollars, not including tip. Highly recommend!!

I had been going to a expensive hair salon out of fear for my hair being butchered. I was happy with my hair dresser at the time, but the price became overbearing. I figured to suck it up, and try to find a barber. Alton Barber Shop -- I came here after looking up local and reasonably priced barbershops in Brookline that I could easily walk to. Now, after JUST my first visit, I fell in love. The service is unmatched, the price I literally am happy to pay with no issue. The employees - genuinely kind, all very friendly people. Then again... In hindsight, his is my first review on *Google*. =
