I recently came in for long braids and they came out so beautifully! The price was reasonable and it took 4 hours in total with a team working on my hair. I’ve been coming here for the past decade and every time, they’ve gone above and beyond to make me feel welcomed and listened to. Highly recommend!!
Hair looks like this after ONE WEEK and a braid fell out too! Called the owner and she said I would have to come all the way back to New York City from New Haven to fix it and that she couldn’t compensate me at all for the poor service. She also was incredibly rude about a payment mix up that happened when I came to get my braids done and tried to accuse me of scamming even though I literally just accidentally withdrew the wrong amount at the ATM because of the ATM withdrawal maximum and immediately paid the remainder plus tip after realizing. Not worth it for $250 and my braids are FRAYING a week later.
I have been coming to this salon for years at this point! I feel like I’m always in good hands no matter who braids my hair, but lately Maty has been the main person who works her magic with my braids. She gets me right every time! (and SO FAST!!) Regular knotless braids, knotless boho, straight backs, fulani, curly ends, whatever you’re looking for, just ask and they got you! They also supply the braiding hair (but you can bring your own if you prefer—if you’re getting boho, bring your own human hair). I won’t go anywhere else :)
Terrible Terrible, the braider was was offended because I asked them to clean the one blow dryer they have in the shop that I saw them use in at least two peoples hair and not wash it! The braider used her apron to wipe it off, used it in my hair and then placed it on the floor then when I checked my hair I saw it wasn’t going well, I asked if they could stop and do it smaller, the braider cut all the braids, and kicked me out of the shop!
Super disappointed. I’ve been coming here for about 3 years now and I’ve always had a relatively pleasant experience until recently. Went in for mid back, medium passion twists. I knew I should’ve left when I told them the color I wanted and they came to sell me on another color because they didn’t have mine…after blowing my hair out. I decided to just go with what they suggested because I had a big trip the next day. The first woman that started working on the back of my head was working out pretty well and another woman (that didn’t seem to be in a good mood) started working on the side of my head. It started off fine for the first row but quickly became in my opinion, unnecessarily aggressive. The second woman was pulling on my head like I was too tall for the chair or my hair was too s
