Amy African Hair Braiding

Been going there for the past 3 years, great service. Nima and Binta is the best. My daughter and my mom went there recently as well and the service is still outstanding. Thank you for the awesome service you guys never disappoint.

all imma say is IF YOU WANT stitch don’t come here all shade ! they do braids good but when a client is asking for STITCH BRAIDS this isn’t stitch and I wear a silk scarf everyday and it’s only been a week and my hair looks like this already… the braider that did my hair was Bintou and she does good braids but when I asked her and showed her a picture of STITCH BRAIDS she said and I quote “ oh I don’t do it like that I do it like this and it’s going to come out nice “ so I’m thinking what you trynna say this how u gonna do it and your not gonna change it ? RIGHTT .. so immediately I knew it wasn’t gonna be what I expected . BUT IF THIS ISNT YOUR SIGN TO GO TO A HOME BASED OR SUITE BASED BRAIDERS THAT GIVES YOU WHAT YOUR PAYING FOR idk what is .

I had the worst experience very disappointing considering this is where i get my hair done all the time ….. i went in at 1pm was told by my regular brader to come back at 3pm, which i did on the dot. She was still braiding her clients hair i waited patiently an additional 1 1/2 when she was done another client jumped in her seat before i can even move. No only did she proceed to braid his hair nvr said nothing to be didn’t apologize i waited an additional 1 1/2 a total of three hours. Then she tried to charge me over priced of $160 mind u i did short braids but the previous customer did long twist with curls and was only charged $140 the price wasn’t the problem because i would had not came back the fact she left me sitting there 3 hrs without a word n had a nasty attitude when i mention p

I travel from Maryland to get my hair braided at Amy's. I am very please with not only the service but the prices as well. Try coming to the DMV for Amy prices. You will never get them. The service is so appreciated I bring friends and family to get their har braided. I also send my mom who lives in NY there. Binta did my Senegalese twist on 11/12/23 & I'm now taking them out. She is excellent.

My initial visit went well. Standard braiding experience. The most recent experience was horrible. The stylist that specializes in stitch braids was absent for the day so I selected a simpler style with another braider. Not only was the stylist extremely rude and unprofessional before she even touched my hair - but the price she quoted me for the simpler style was more than the stitch style that would’ve been more complicated and would have taken more work. Typically I bring my own combs, (wide tooth, rat tail etc, and braid hair pre-washed, and sectioned - apparently this was upsetting to her — to which her reply “do you want me to do your hair or not”. I chose to to exit before the our exchange escalated further.
