Arelis Dominican Salon

I came into this salon for an emergency blow out. The receptionist was extremely kind and was able to help me out. I didn’t have to wait long. Andrea did a wash and did my hair. The staff is incredibly nice and offer you refreshments during your visit. This will be my go to spot for future visits.

This is my hair after 2 days. I went in for a silk press. While my hair was beautifully washed. The lady that did my hair repeatedly was burning my scalp with the blow dryer. I kept moving and telling her it’s hot, but she continued. Now I have burn marks all over my head, especially on my hairline. I believe this was from the flat iron when she was trying to straighten my edges. My scalp was insanely dry and flaking. My hair is very straight however it was not worth all of the burns. I wish the person that washed my hair was the same person to straighten it.

My hair has grown and is so much healthier after years of coming to this salon 🙌🏽 I'm a life long customer.

I will never come here again. I make appointments early in the morning. This place opens at 9am so when I got there on Nov 26th someone was already in the chair. I sat and waited and a walk in came in. I got my hair washed and conditioned and while under the dryer the stylist took the walk in to blow dryer . Once my hair was done the stylist asked if I wait until she finished the walk in. No I won’t I made an appointment walk ins should wait. Don’t take walk ins and make ripple who took the time to make an appointment. My time is precious. I don’t stop people from making money but this is unprofessional. I didn’t get blown out and they still charged me $30. If you like to make an appointment and get in and get out do not come to this place. I can’t believe these people are from New York. I

The pricing is never consistent here and they always uo charge for detangling even if I already come detangled. I was told on several occasions by the lady in the first chair by the door (I love her!) that if I get rollers next time it would be cheaper than $75. Well today, I arrived at 9:10 and had to leave early bc I had to go to work. I left at 11:52 and was still under the dryer with another hour to go. I was charged $86!!!!! For a wash and set with rollers!!! I could’ve went to a high end salon for that. This is not 1998 or even 2008. Why is it taking 3 hours to get in and out of the salon. This may be fun for some of the rest of you but people have jobs and other errands. Why are we still setting aside 5 hours to sit in the salon???? Inconsistent pricing and bad timing.
