I was excited about this salon since I have thick Asian hair with texture and it was nearby. 4 days ago, I asked for long layers and curtain bangs using a dry cut. It was styled at the end, so I didn’t see the full cut as is. The layers do not blend in together at all. A bad cut can be disguised from styling. I got a choppy and uneven layered cut and now I have to style my hair to make it look presentable. Probably gonna have to spend money at another salon to fix the cut, so that I don’t have to keep styling it. $60 for the cut. My stylist was the more quiet guy. Update: Yup I had to go to another salon, and the stylist there fixed it. She took the time to blend the layers instead of aggressively using a razor chop off my hair. I am so pleased with Oscar’s work. I’ve been looking for a salon that does digital perm in the DMV for a while now. Oscar did a consultation and checked the quality of my hair before the perm day. He was patient and explained that we would have to add layers and do a mix of small and big perm rods to get the result I wanted. The pricing was transparent and cheaper than most other salons. He also very politely handled a belligerent customer who was trying to underpay for their haircut despite there being a transparent price list. Will definitely come back to Oscar for more hair services in the future!

Oscar is seriously so so good at everything and meticulous to boot! I did the same hair bleach/color I had done at a fancy, aesthetic salon in Asia and it didn’t turn out as well as Oscar’s work. I also have a lot of very thick and very black Asian hair. I also don’t know much about hair and get anxious going to the salon for longer sessions but Oscar was so helpful with answering all of my questions (magic straightening vs keratin, and the order of everything including bleach and color). Also I always feel a bit awkward during conversations but Oscar had just the right amount of chatting but also quiet time so I could relax fully. So happy with the haircut I got here and will definitely be making this my regular salon! Oscar is skilled, efficient, and knowledgeable. He knew exactly what I wanted and gave me some good tips for styling myself. Prices are extremely reasonable for the area as well.

This was the only salon I could find in DC that provided a digital perm, and Oscar majorly delivered. He was very attentive and willing to work with me on the length and curl I wanted to go for, while being honest about what was possible. The end result was perfect, and I highly recommend him and his work!
