I recently visited a Dominican hair salon for a trim and brought my own shampoo and conditioner, hoping to keep my usual routine. However, I noticed that the stylist added a different deep conditioner before putting me under the dryer for about 30-45 minutes. After the dryer, my hair was still in its natural kinky state, and the stylist recommended a roller set on low heat to stretch it out before trimming. Everything seemed fine at first. They used heat protectant at each step, and eventually, my hair was straightened and trimmed. But once I got home, I realized my hair felt flatter than usual, which was a bit concerning because I naturally have low-density 4C hair.
