Braids Land

Not a good place to receive “self care”, as a woman. It is loud, and your appointments are always late. Usually you can have a few people in your head at braid shop and be out at a timely manner, exclude this place from your place of nice service. I contacted the owner whom then responded unprofessionally to the situation as if I was not actively at the shop and she was not. She stated they do not open until 9am as the site states so I agree, but people are in at 8am, as I have been one that has plenty of times. I don’t feel it be right if I did not give an honest review as someone who has given many years given to this establishment. There are kind and considerate women that work very hard in this shop but the owner is simply very unprofessional.

My go-to salon for braids and twists! Mary and her amazing team consistently deliver top-notch service. They provide everything you need, but for specialty styles, you can bring your own extensions or bundles. They're super efficient, and if you’re tender-headed like me, just let them know—they're incredibly gentle, making the whole experience really comfortable. I’ve been a loyal client of Mary’s for ten years, and even though I’ve moved, I keep coming back for their outstanding quality, just like many other happy clients. Highly recommend!

Had micros done several times with short hair. Called before to ask if it could be done and told her what my hair was like so she could be prepared. She reassured me that they could do it. Got there the lady in the back was braiding a lot of hair into one braid and the parting was TERRIBLE! I truly apologize to the lady who was doing the front because her work was beautiful. The lady in the back handled my hair very aggressively and tried arguing back with me! FOR $200 DO THE JOB RIGHT! You want your money? WE WANT OUR SERVICE!! Will not be back nor will I be recommending anyone to this salon.

I've been going here since maybe 2003. Ive tried other places but I believe they are the best in the city. I've filled many loyalty cards many times over. They don't braid too tight and they don't have a fit when I ask them not to clean the braids with scissors.
