Summer and Chris are so stellar! Chris was super considerate and really listened to what I wanted to do with my hair. And the cut was amazing! He even gave me a little sample of product to take home so I could maintain my look before going on vacation. If you like plants and good company, this is the place to be.

When I first moved to Chicago, I asked people in my office where I should get my hair cut, and the overwhelming response was Broken Roller. Six years later, I can’t imagine going anywhere else. Over the years I’ve had long, short, and everything-in-between hairstyles, and Summer handles them all with ease. She’s a wizard with curly hair, combining expert skill and experience with a real attentiveness to what her clients want. Summer and Chris make the salon such a warm, welcoming place that every appointment feels like catching up with friends. I can’t recommend Broken Roller enough!

I have been going to Broken Roller since 2018 and I genuinely cannot say enough wonderful things about it. Summer and Chris are both so kind and considerate, not to mention amazing at what they do (Summer does my highlights and Chris does my haircuts). They both always make sure that they have a very clear idea of what I want done, and their execution is always flawless. After having struggled to find a good, consistent salon, it was such a relief to finally find stylists who would never let me leave without feeling absolutely happy with the end result.

I have been coming to this salon since it opened and it is simply perfect! It is such a calm and chill place to be that I wish I needed a hair cut more often. I have curly but somewhat fine hair and I always walk away with the perfect cut and color. I get the most compliments on my hair and I would follow Summer and Chris to the burbs or even another state if necessary! Cannot recommend enough!

An absolutely incredible boutique - extremely cozy and comfortable, with super warm and inviting vibes. Chris consulted with me for my first haircut in a long time and made me feel perfectly at ease. He has great communication skills and was able to help me figure out the best cut and style for my hair. It is not an exaggeration to say he gave me literally the best haircut I've ever had.
