Bruce's Penn Lake Barbers

I never have time to schedule a cut due to work and lifestyle but always need a clean cut. Bruce and his crew are your old school barber shop and bald head fades are epic. This is one of those places I don’t want to tell people about a lot because then it’ll just be too busy for me to get a haircut, but he really is the best barbershop I found in the 22 years. I’ve lived here.

I’ve been getting my haircut here by Bruce and the crew for two years now and I’ve never been disappointed. Very friendly people that know how to get you in right away and leave you looking fresh and feeling great. Truly a real barber shop, something that is getting harder to find these days.

Stopped in because I wanted to support a local business instead of the corporate clippers down the road. The location is convenient, and the shop itself has a classic barber motif going. But the haircut I got was mediocre at best. I got the impression they only know how to give one kind of haircut "and you'll like it" (whether you like it or not). The woman who cut my hair looked annoyed that I interrupted her takeout meal, and she made no effort to conceal her multiple burps near my face (confirmed it was, in fact, sesame chicken). Also, be aware that they don't accept credit cards—cash or check only. I learned too late that there's a small handwritten note stating this on the lower corner of their front window.
