Daba African Hair Braiding

DO NOT GO TO THIS WOMAN. I’ve visited Daba twice and both experiences were sub-par. She does not speak English well and therefore cannot understand the styles you need/want. I am never going back again, because my style is unraveled after only 2 days!!!!!!! The first time she braided my, I requested a braid down for me to manually install crochet braids and/or wear wigs, and she did not tell me I needed to bring my own hair before I arrived (which I would have done) — at her home! When I arrived, a random man opened the door (assuming her son or another relative) and just told me to sit on the couch. I wasn’t expecting that and it was a very uncomfortable experience. This was a terrible experience and she is a horrible hair braider. I asked her multiple times if she could do the style I was requesting and she insisted that she could. Needless to say it wasn’t even close after she finished and when I told her it was unacceptable, especially for the $80 she charged me. She offered to do it over so then at that point I requested just straight back cornrows thinking that would be easy enough for her. She messed that up as well. Not only are my braids crooked and uneven but she put 7 damn braids in my head instead of 6 even straight back braids. I feel robbed of my time and money and i would not recommend this stylist to anyone.

Sweet lady but service is NOT what asked for. I called and confirmed my appointment the day before my 10 AM appointment and when I got there at 10 AM the following day she had a client already there. I then had to wait 2 1/2 hours for her to finish a client hair when I had the 10 AM appointment! Then she told me she needed to take a shower which I had to wait an additional 35 minutes. She never asked what length or how think the braids should be. She used 10 packs of hair on a style that only needed 3 packs. Oh, and let’s not forget I had to go out and purchase four more packs because she ran out of packs of hair. My daughter and I were not pleased at all. I did not get home until 7:45 PM! I wasted $150. I would NOT recommend her.

I had an appointment at another place that over booked and canceled on me after my arrival. Panicked to complete my hair I found and called Daba. She was able to take me the same day. Her place is beautifully decorated, comfortable, and clean. I was the only one there and it was nice and private. She did a job that would have taken me 10hrs on myself in 5hrs. My box braids lasted 3 months and looked wonderful after swimming and shampoos. I greatly appreciate her doing a same day appointment with such quality and professionalism.

My experience at Daba's African Hair Braiding was spectacular. She is truly a professional at heart. Beautiful family, very humble, and her and her husband has such a wonderful and awesome personality. She made me feel welcome, it was an experience like I came in as a customer but I left as family. She did an excellent job with my Senegalese twist, I had so much fun with her and her family!!! Her shop was exceptionally clean and beautifully decorated!! and it is more of a personal, private and happy environment. I would definitely recommend her to everyone I know that is looking for a professional African Hairstylist, her price is very reasonable and fair, that you cannot beat.. She takes pride in what she does and gives you nothing but the best quality work EVER!!!!!! BEST AFRICAN HAIR BR
