DAJ Massage Spa

I stopped in at DAJ Spa while waiting for a delayed flight at JFK — it’s only about 10 minutes away. I had a lot of tension in my neck and back and was hoping for a straightforward, professional massage, and that’s exactly what I got. The place is clean and simple, not a luxury resort, but the massage was outstanding. They charge $50 and I tipped him $30 so for $80, I got one of the best professional massages I’ve had. I don’t speak Mandarin and he spoke very little English so I used ChatGPT to translate back-and-forth with the phone speaker, I was amazed how well it worked. Highly recommended

Genuinely a great experience. I believe this is operated by a husband and wife. She answered the phone and was very hospitable over the phone and reviewed pricing and tip. When I arrived I was told to pay up front which I didn’t like but understood being that people walk out without paying (so sad). The space is dim lighting, room temperature with no thrills. No smells when I walked in which is great. I would say they should add a defuser with lavender to give the spa like smell. Clean space overall. I did a deep tissue massage and it was great. He massaged knots that I didn’t even know I had. I did 90 minutes. The only real con was the lady talking on the phone while getting a massage. It took away from the experience. Jenny gives the best soft/medium (pressure) massages, Eva gives medium/deep massages and Angela gives the best deep tissue massages (she was massaging my husband and he was surprised by how strong she was- don’t underestimate her). The also do cupping which is wonderful for relieving the tension that we NYers tend to carry in our bodies- relieves aches and fatigue. Overall would give em a 10/10. Price is right and atmosphere is just what I need for relaxation.

The massage itself was great, they have calming music playing throughout and the rooms are spacious. However, I felt very pressured to leave a tip at the end. A 30% tip was demanded on an $80 service, which made the experience uncomfortable. For that reason alone, I won’t be returning.
