Davidov Hair & Spa

After searching and searching for a hair salon I just walked in here to talk about pricing etc. I booked an appt on chance it would work out ok. This was my first visit. I am visiting NYC and needed roots/color done. Everyone was sweet and I felt at ease being in a new place and city. Maria was patient and sweet while helping me with the decision of color and cut. Which turned out to be perfect!! I’m glad to have found my “go to” salon if I need one again while visiting NYC in the future. Everyone was very nice!! I love my color and the cut was great!

I get my fusion extensions here done by Natalie and she is absolutely AMAZING. She listens to exactly what you want, very transparent, and makes sure you leave the salon happy no matter what. Everyone who works at the salon is also so amazing. After I get my extensions in, Julia cuts, and blends my hair and she is such a talented hair cutter/stylist. I am very particular with my hair, and will always return here. After I got my extensions done the first time, and I came back to get them redone, my hair not only grew faster, but doubled in volume and was much healthier due to how well Natalie put my extensions in. This is worth the investment, and you will never want to go anywhere else after coming here. If i could give this place 10 stars I would! Highly, highly recommend, you will not be

I’m not one to leave negative reviews but this is the worst cut I’ve ever gotten. I asked for long layers and face framing with a u cut in the back. What I received was long and short choppy layers with no face framing. The layers are not blended at all. The top half was chopped off more than the bottom half therefore when I tie my hair in a low pony it only ties the bottom half the top comes out because it is too short. Attached are a few photos for proof. Nothing against the stylist but when you can literally see the mistake you should accept it and not tell me it’s not short when in fact it is way too short. Long layers don’t start at my chin. I will not be visiting this salon again.

To start with, I was considering getting highlights and was checking Groupon for deals. Found one for Davidov and decided to give them a call as it was the closest to work. Davidov was super-nice and helped me get an appointment for Friday evening despite being super busy. When I first walked in, I was a little skeptical because they started talking about this and that and scaring me. I was also a little thrown off by the hair-product smell. Julia (Senior stylist) doesn't usually take Groupons but I was lucky to get her to work with my hair because the others were busy. So she looked at my unhealthy looking virgin-black hair and said I don't need toner and just highlights should be enough to get caramel colored streaks. False advertisement on groupon claiming "deep contioning treatment" but its just a wash and super fast conditioner. The hairdresser I got didn't give me the cut I wanted. Overall wouldn't recommend. Bad service.
