Destiny Kids Hair Salon & Spa

I have been taking my granddaughter to Destiny’s Kid Salon for well over 3 years now. The stylist are great and do an amazing job. However, there always seems to be an issue, no WiFi on more than one occasion. If this is supposed to be a kid friendly establishment, the WiFi should be on and accessible, as well as providing kid friendly stations. For the owner to state she can’t afford WiFi is unacceptable. One should also not have to call to see if the heat in the establishment will be on. The heating issue has also been an issue more than one time. You have your stylist pulling out electric heaters instead. This is why we keep text messages as proof, it’s called accountability. As this is also offensive to the women you employ and also to your customers. Clearly, the owner does

Quality of the hair styles = 2 thumbs up Customer service = 2 thumbs way down I have scheduled 2 appointments here for my 6yo. The hair always looks great and keeps up nicely. However the scheduling is very uncoordinated. First time no one showed up to even open the shop until 15 mins after my appointment. The second time, the stylist didn't even know if she was the one who was doing my daughter's hair. She ended up doing it, but started an hour late. The owner handles scheduling but hasn't been present in the shop. I will keep coming but I'll lower my expectations with the customer service aspect.

This was a great experience!! We come from 3 hours away and it was worth every bits of it. Sheka was amazing with my daughter who’s very tender headed and nailed the hairstyle we wanted. Ms. Grace was super nice too. We will definitely come back.

Took my daughter here twice. My daughter is extremely tender headed and both times the stylists were patient with her and did an excellent job. My complaint, however, is not with the stylists but with the owner. She has zero hospitality and all the hostility. I was shocked to have even been able to get an appointment through her previously because her responsiveness is terrible. When you text she leaves you on Read. You have to follow up constantly to even get a simple reply. And when she does reply, she’s curt and condescending (both on text and phone call). I’ve been trying to get an appointment for this upcoming week (before Memorial Day weekend) and she definitely reads my messages but doesn’t respond. I guess she doesn’t need the money to run her business.

I rarely write reviews, but feel like it is necessary to give an honest assessment of this place. I took my child here on and off over the last few years. The stylists are great. They show care, are professional and do styles that keep looking new for a month or more. The stylists deserve 5 stars. Unfortunately, the owner Has a serious attitude. She hates for you to suggest your own products or really have any opinion. She sucks her teeth and on one occasion (the last), she told my child why does your mom use these products, they are not helping your hair as she looked at her hair with disgust. She did this when I stepped out to get my daughter water so I could not address it directly. No one in the business of doing a black child’s hair should ever do this…we have to keep lifting
