Douk African Hair Braiding

Do not waste your time coming to this braiding shop. The first time I went they did an amazing job but they took advantage of my admiration my first time coming in and completely undermined what I asked for the second time to up the price. I asked for mid back and sent a picture of the size and parting I wanted. The women then asked for my payment before I was finished, very unprofessional, I gave in because I trusted them. I later said I wasn’t satisfied and came back but they couldn’t do much. This is what my hair looks like 3 weeks in and this what I asked for. I spend a good amount of money on quality hair just for it to be wasted by unprofessional people. I’m still trying to get my money back.

My sister Lena referred me to this place the lady Mama braided my hair and I love my hair so much this is my new go to place.. not only that but the prices are very reasonable. They also asked me when she put the first braid in is it too tight.. I did let her know that it wasn't and that it was perfect.. so they do ask you if it's too tight.. I do recommend this place.. my hair is beautiful 💜💜

Do not recommend. My experience started off okay until the owner came into the shop. Immediately, she started going up to each client & running her fingers through their hair analyzing the braiders work without saying hello or anything. To some clients she took her phone out & began taking photos and videos without their permission. One client asked for modifications to her braids , to which the braiders did not inform her of the up charge. Cash is required and the client only brought the previously agreed upon amount and did not have enough to cover the undisclosed upcharge. The owner loudly went back & forth with the client in front of the whole shop saying she should know better because she comes there all the time. It was so obvious that the client was so embarrassed & I felt so bad f

Do not go to this place! I got my hair braided last week Friday. I sent a picture for reference cos I wanted knotless boho braids for a wedding I was in and told them the length and size and they did exactly the opposite. The braids were too thin and longer than I wanted. The curls were only at the top and none in the middle or the bottom. They were also so thin that my braids matted the very next day. I couldn’t even join the wedding anymore. And I had just wasted $300

My advice: DO NOT GO! I was literally in here until 3 in the morning. Worst experience. The shop isn’t even dirty, it’s filthy! I seen them eat and do hair which is absolutely disgusting. I gave them a inspo pic and they still did whatever they wanted. Was not worth the money. The braids weren’t clean so taking it out for me when I already have Long natural hair was difficult. Definitely over charged me $370 for goddess braids… there are better places that do quality work for less. Go somewhere else sis!!!
