I’ve been searching for someone who truly knows how to work with thick, curly hair, and I’m so glad I found Gary! It’s been about 1.5 months since he worked on my hair, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. He was able to get rid of the orange tones in my hair, and now it looks vibrant and natural. What really impressed me is how he seamlessly blended my gray hair with the rest of my hair, no awkward lines or harsh contrast, just a smooth, flattering blend. Gary is clearly a pro, and I would absolutely recommend him to anyone with curly or thick hair. I’ll definitely be going back!

unfortunately do not waste your time here if you want a balayage. I asked for a honey brown balayage on my virgin black hair. we agreed to go more ashy/neutral than warm toned. after the 4 hr session I came out and my hair was grey… and the balayage toning was super patchy (there were parts that were orange still). I went back in a second time and asked him to tone it less grey and more warm. when we were finished, my hair looked EXACTLY THE SAME AS WHEN I WALKED INTO THE SALON THE FIRST TIME. He toned it super dark to the point where it just looked like virgin black hair with some slight brown if you stare in the sunlight. wasted 8 hours just to bleach my hair and have it look unnoticeable. worst part is he said this is what I asked for…

I’ve been going to Gary for over 2 years and can say with confidence he’s amazing at what he does. If you have dark hair and are looking to go lighter, he’s your guy! He’s taken my naturally dark hair to super blonde in the past and did amazing toning work. Fast forward to now, my hair mostly it’s natural dark color has fully grown in and he added the perfect amount of depth to brighten it up for summer but without taking me all the way blonde - just want I wanted. Gary is wonderful, easy to talk to and really listened. He intuitively knew exactly the best way to cut my hair and highlight it. First time going and he nailed it!! With Covid going on and having gone to the same stylist for 20 yrs, I was so lucky to find Gary Young. Can't wait to return and see him again tomorrow!

Went in for the 2nd time visit and this time to get a keratin treatment. My hair was outgrowing from a previous keratin treatment and was very uneven. Gary mentioned he can do the treatment but it did not work out well at all. My hair is frizzy but not very thick so if a professional knew what they were doing, it should have worked on my hair, instead it left my hair damaged. Keratin treatment cost me 200+ and it was a total waste of money. When I called back, I mentioned I did not want to correct the keratin treatment because I was scared it would get damanged rather just do root touch up instead, he said he would still charge me for the root touch up. That’s honestly really disappointing.
