Excellent Nails

I travel all the way from Milpitas to Mountain View just to come to Excellent Nails, and that should say a lot about how good they are. The quality of their work, pricing, and overall care is honestly better than most places I’ve tried in Milpitas and San Jose. A few years ago (2022), I had a really bad experience at another salon (Kitchen Bar) where I got acrylic/dip done and 2–3 nails fell off within hours. One even broke the next day at the gym and my nail started bleeding. When I went back, instead of fixing the issue properly, they blamed my nails and said they were too weak. After that I almost gave up on getting acrylics again. Then I decided to try Excellent Nails, and I’m so glad I did. I went here while visiting Mountain View in 2021 and loved it so much that I went wayyy back through my history to find the name. Unfortunately my experience wasn’t so great this time around. My nails feel really thin which can be the case if I have had multiple sets of fake nails back to back but in this case I had been worn one set fake nails for about 3 weeks with natural nails before. Also while there was alot of attention to cuticles but they still look bad. The part that most bothers me is that my nails were tearing on the side but nothing was done to reinforce them, just sort of painted over where there were clearly cracks. Unfortunately the worst manicure I’ve ever gotten. The staff was very kind, but the final result of the gel manicure was a mess (polish outside of nails, a lot of empty spaces). Pretty disappointed

I've been going here since my old salon closed down during the pandemic, and been super happy with them. Lien introduced me to dip powder, and does wonderful job on all kinds of nail designs. Highly recommended. My wife doesn't usually get her nails done, but broke a toe nail half-way down right before leaving on a trip; we stopped by to see if something could be done, and Lien took care of it, with a wonderful job that she had no trouble with the nail until it grew out. This is my go to place for nails around Mountain View. They take their time and leave you with great nails. I have tried gel manicure and dipping powder here. They last me about 2-3 weeks before some nails start to chip due to chores, life etc. Attaching some of the designs i got here over the past 2 years, most recently by Lien, who patiently did an ombré dipping powder “summer” nails set for me. Thank you Lien, absolutely love your work!
