FireStarter Fab Lab

This is an amazing place to learn wood working. For a hobby or for maybe a side hustle. The amount of knowledge the teachers and volunteers have is invaluable. I made this nightstand with no prior furniture making knowledge. I highly recommend being a part of this lab. The access to all the machines is also amazing. You won't kind this anywhere else. Not in a hundred miles anyways.

What a wonderful experience! 1st class, 101, we were taught how to use all of the equipment properly and safely, proper name for different sides of a frame, proper gluing, and much more, then they turned us loose to make our 1st project, a cutting board. I could not find a pic. And boy, was I using some of my tools wrong! Something as simple as a drill! If my daddy would admit he is wrong and my stepfather was alive, I'd show them the correct way to operate a drill. Haha On to class 201, which was a more in-depth learning experience. 🤣 We had to decide on something to build and one night during this process, I had had enough of screwing up and corrections given from the instructors, I packed it all up and went home before I cried in front of everyone. If you have not stopped by for a tour to see the magnitude of different projects you can learn how to create, you are missing out on this gem. I will truly miss this special place and the amazing friends I have made there now that I have moved from Warner Robins.

They offer a huge array of services cheaply for members. I also loved learning carpentry and making my own furniture.
