No matter what you're working with, she will have you looking amazing at a reasonable price. Gate of beauty is conveniently located right on the corner of 10th Ave s & 16th st s underneath EZ money. The shop is very neat and clean. Gate of beauty is the only hair shop of its kind. Antoinette is one of a kind! She's very sweet and helpful. She's easy to talk to and makes getting your hair done an amazing experience. She's worked on my hair and my daughters hair, and she always does an amazing job. We won't go anywhere else. Miss Antoinette got me in to do a washing, conditioning, and she cut my ends to get my hair back on the right track. The salon has a very calm and subtle vibe. She is a great person while getting your hair done to just have a decent conversation or discussion with! I did schedule an appointment a little after getting my hair trimmed to get knotless Boho braids before a trip I had coming up. My hair lasted the entire trip but once I got back, I decided to take it down. Let's just say the style is not for me and after I talked to my cousin a little bit, I showed her my hair and she wasn't too happy. Poor customer service and lack of kindness and compassion. Don’t expect Antoinette to call you by the correct name or to remember your appointment. She has now forgot she scheduled us (for the third time since I’ve been going to her in 2 years.) My 6 year old daughter loved her braids, but said she “didn’t like the vibe of the rude lady” and wants to go to a different salon next time. It’s tough in Montana not having a lot of options. There’s also a good chance that if you ask for a certain style you will not get what you ask for, but what Miss Antoinette decides. Even if it is discussed in advanced with pictures. I will just wait to go back to California next time or drive to Stormi’s in Missoula. Worth it to not be put down by the person supposedly providing you a service.

Indirectly I used this establishment by paying the deposit for my girlfriend. We both ended up testing positive within the ‘24 hour’ rule and she shouldn’t be out in public so we tried to reschedule. She refused to be considerate for a returning customer and treated her like a flight risk expecting another $50 deposit before moving the appointment. I said in the background to call back after we’ve talked about it and she got real snotty about how she’s got a business and now she’s got an empty chair for 3 hours because she didn’t have the notice. As if we planned to get sick. First experience was ok. This one not so much. I’d expect better treatment as a returning customer that’s already demonstrated the want to make the appointments as scheduled. Garbage customer service. Average braid

I rarely write reviews on anything. However, if you are a curly haired 4A 4B 4C person... I just want to warn you: This place is not for your hair, if you want to get a good trim in its curly state. I should have ran the other way when the stylist saw my semi-tight curly coils (when stretched they're only down to my bottom neck) and asked (with a worried look) if my hair will still be curly after she washes it... By the way, she had seen my hair before and assured me that she would be able to trim it. Anyway, it only took her 20 to 30 minutes for the whole process of quickly washing and quickly "conditioning" and quickly "trimming" my hair. And during this time, as she roughly raked through a "section", The Stylist made comments about how her arms were tired and such from allegedly working
