Glo Tanning

I came in to get my first spray tan. The girls working there were very nice, showed me around and gave me all the details.The place was nice and clean. The only reason I’m giving a 4 star instead of 5 is because of how pushy they were with trying to sell me their memberships and products. I didn’t want to get a membership yet because I wanted to see how I liked it first and if I would do this again. I had to say no to her multiple times with the membership. Besides that, I had a great experience.

⭐ 1/5 – Feels misleading and designed to trap you I signed up for Glo Tanning’s family membership on the 17th ($100/month for me and my cousin). That same day, they charged us $75.17. Now they’re telling us we’ll still be charged the full $100 again on the 1st — basically paying twice within two weeks. This was not clearly explained when we signed up. The worst part? You can’t just easily cancel. Instead, they push you to “freeze” your account through an online portal, still charge you $5/month, and make you meet specific deadlines or you get billed again. It feels intentionally confusing and designed to keep charging you no matter what. The whole experience feels misleading and predatory. A membership should not feel like a trap. I have been to many tanning salons and I always get the best tan here! I’ve been a member here for a few years now at various locations. They maintain their equipment and keep the salon super clean. The staff is so friendly and make great recommendations to help you achieve your goals.

This place has really gone downhill over the years. The high employee turnover says a lot about the company and is probably why it takes forever to get into a bed—there are constantly new employees still learning the job. They also only offer a limited number of services. I’ve been to much bigger tanning salons that were run far more efficiently with just one employee on shift than 3 working at once here.

I’ve been going to Glo in South Tampa specifically for their red light therapy, and it has been such a game changer. The studio is always clean, modern, and welcoming, and the staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. They walk you through everything and make you feel completely comfortable. I’ve noticed a real difference in my skin. More brightness, fewer little texture issues, and overall just healthier. The sessions are quick and relaxing, and I love that it’s a non-invasive way to support skin health and recovery.
