Hair Bar NYC Soho

I had a silk touch keratin treatment with Liana on Oct 18 and wanted to give it some time to write my review. Liana was very professional and all staff members were friendly. She explained everything well to me. I was happy with the results and still am. I live in north of the Bay Area and booked my appointment at the Hair Bar NYC during a work trip. I have fine and frizzy hair. Where I live weather is so humid all year around. So makes my hair unmanageable. Before the treatment at Hair Bar NYC, I had tried the keratin treatment in my hometown but the result didn’t last longer than about 5 weeks. The first photo (shortest hair) was taken less than 2 months after prev treatment in dry weather. The other 2 photos are from today (2 months after treatment at the Hair Bar) air dried after wash.

I’ve never written a Yelp review before, but I felt compelled to after my experience here with Ines! First of all—her talent speaks for itself. I’m a week out from my keratin treatment and it turned out absolutely perfect. This is my first time getting this treatment after 15+ years of doing the old keratin and then the Brazilian blowout. My hair has never looked or felt better in my life. But beyond her skill, what really sets her apart is who she is. She is unbelievably kind, calm, and grounding. She has such a peaceful energy, which makes the whole experience feel like a treat rather than just a hair appointment.

I came in on Tuesday, July 8th for the silk touch plus keratin treatment, the location was pretty and the receptionist and stylist was very friendly. Unfortunately, my keratin treatment did not last after I showered on Friday morning, July 11th. My hair is back to being curly and frizzy, which is the main reason I get keratin treatments every year. I held off on reviewing for two weeks hoping I was wrong but my hair never went back to being sleek as it was in the salon. It’s unfortunate that I spent $400 on a treatment that lasted about a week.

Best blowout of my life! Hands down. Suzana at NYC Hair Bar on Lafayette Street is truly exceptional. I wish I lived closer to New York because I would see her all the time. Whenever I’m in NYC, I make it a point to book with Suzana and I honestly wish she lived closer to me in California. She gave me the best blowout I have ever had, and I’ve had many blowouts over the years. My hair looked absolutely gorgeous smooth, full, shiny, and perfectly styled and what amazed me most is that it held beautifully for over a week. That has never happened to me before. Suzana is incredibly talented, intuitive, and clearly a master of her craft. And she is so friendly and FUN! If you’re looking for a blowout that not only looks stunning when you leave the chair but lasts and feels amazing days later

I was really disappointed by my experience at this salon. The space felt unsanitary — there was broken glass on the floor, hairbrushes packed with old hair, and generally dirty surfaces. To make things worse, the manager was dismissive and unprofessional, which made the whole visit uncomfortable. It’s a real shame, because my stylist was genuinely kind, talented, and did a great job. Unfortunately, the overall environment and poor management completely overshadowed that. I wouldn’t recommend this salon until it’s cleaned up and properly managed.
