They for sure have perm in the shampoo and conditioner because I’ve shaved my head 3x and wear my curly hair often I know what virgin curly hair is like. My hair texture completely changed after 2 visits. Didn’t bother texting the owner to ask because I already know. I had a perm many years ago and I know what my curls are like especially what they're like when my hair is growing back from being bald. My hair was virgin hair so this is really upsetting. I called a complaint in to nyc department of consumer. Edit & Response: 20 yrs of business doesn’t equate to a good business. There are about 3 salons total in Coney Island with yours being one to choose from and it’s almost as though choosing the best option out of 3 not so great options, let’s make that clear. This people are thieves first time I went to do my hair they charged me $45 for a wash and set I always go to the Bronx for a wash and set which they charge me $30 but I left it alone and today I called to come in for a wash and set and the lady told me on the phone the price is $65 how when a perm is $55 and what she told me it’s their price the city needs to look into them overcharging people because they barely have customers.I pass by all the time and it’s always one person doing their hair.I feel like the place is not even clean for that overcharging price they don’t even do anything special to ur hair to be that expensive shame on them.

Hair for U is the Best Hair Salon in Coney Island for over 20+ years. Nayda the stylist is Awesome. She Caters to all hair types and Style. She always Welcomes you with her smiles. The owner Edwin Cosme and his wife are very Hospitable and offers great Customer Service. During the holidays they provide snacks and a Holiday toast..Love them Dearly

They damage peoples hair ! They use way to much heattt and burns the hair off . The stylist doesn’t know how to so African Americans hair but she lies so you can pay her to do it . Update : I returned to the salon 2 weeks later upon request from the owner. Both the owner & stylist refused to take accountability (as you see the comments ) they responded unprofessionally stating “ what do you want me to do now that your hair is damaged “?…. Very unprofessional. Once again I don’t recommend shopping here 🤷🏾‍♀️. I have a paper trail of documents, photos & videos of being seated & styled at this location !!

I highly recommend this place because Nayra does an excellent job waxing my eyebrow’s besides that she does my mother’s highlights which leaves my mother feeling glamorous after lol , I truly appreciate the service here as a client for so long I can say this is the best salon located on mermaid ! the owner is really friendly & respectful towards everyone😌
