I’ve been coming to Hair Vyce Studio for a while now, and I can honestly say it’s one of the best decisions I’ve made for my hair. My stylist and I have built a real relationship over time, and I trust her completely with what she feels my hair needs. The best way I can explain it is this: I don’t go to the mechanic and tell them I need new brakes… and then try to tell them which brakes to put on my car. I trust the professional — and that’s exactly how I feel here. She’s very busy, and I come in understanding that I may need to wait sometimes, but I’m always taken care of. She makes sure I’m comfortable — whether that’s water to drink, something small to eat, or just making sure I’m settled in. I went to their new Center City spot a few months ago, and I'm so grateful for the care and styling I got from Hair Vyce! I've always struggled with my hair and too much frizziness, dryness, framing/shaping issues, etc. Systemic health issues have also messed my hair up lately, and I wasn't looking forward to another cut (have done a few by now). On my haircut, Frenchie couldn't have done a better job. I'm not new to the big chop, but it's never looked 'right' on me. I've never gotten a style that felt natural, or didn't make me look overly-masculine or weird, and I always felt worse about my hair afterwards. extremely disappointed in the service i received at hair vyce. would give 0 stars if i could. i booked an appointment for 9:30am and was told to arrive 5 minutes before my appointment time, which i did. however, the salon was completely closed and i had to wait outside until around 9:32 for someone (who i am assuming was the owner) to arrive and open up for the day. i sat in the waiting area for half an hour while the owner cleaned and set up the studio for the day. eventually she sat me at the wash bowl because my actual stylist, akua, was close to arriving. once she did arrive she spent at least 15 minutes chatting with the owner about mundane topics like birthdays and holiday plans. at one point they started talking about the most recent negative review on here, saying how the person ha

I went natural 10 years ago and I’ve never been to a salon in all that time. The level of care, respect and comfort I was given at Hair Vyce is truly unmatched. I felt very comfortable during my whole experience. The staff were kind and warm. The owner was truly a gem. The clients didn’t hesitate to tell me they have been coming for years and were very happy. Overall, I highly recommend supporting this amazing black owned business.

Don't let the reviews of Hair Vyce's Center City location fool you (compare with their West Philly location - it's the same team), Frenchie provides some of the best hair service in the city. I've been getting my locs twisted with her since last July and working with her has been a game changer in terms of the quality of my locs and the health of my hair. I had locs for 6 years before cutting them and leaving my hair short for about 2-3 years. My initial locs were rife with build-up and had thinned at the roots--and this is on top of having severe build-up on my scalp that none of my prior loctitians assisted me with.
