I walked in today and was immediately seated by Pam, a true master of her craft who has been cutting hair here since 1991. You read that right—she has over 30 years of experience at this very chair, and it shows. She was incredibly pleasant to talk to, making the whole experience feel like visiting an old friend. This place is a true gem. I’ve been going there for 8 years. I’ve had cuts/buzzes with each experienced barber over that time; all excellent; all attentive. Hilldale Barber Shop feels like an overdue reward after years of sloppy haircuts at chains (Cost Cutters, Sport Clips, etc). Highly recommended! Don’t forget to tip them; They are professionals.

I've recently discovered Wisky Rock barber shop in monona. By far the most incredible experience I've had getting a hair cut in nearly 40 years. A few months back was my last time at Hilldale barber. I came by around 9:30 on a Saturday to find the place full. I've never had a personal barber in the two plus years I've gone, and spent money, far too much money! My barber was an older male who had quite a few inappropriate comments to make as a father and his two young sons sat only feet from us. This male barber asked if I'd sell him drugs, waited a few seconds and then told me, he was "kidding". I asked for a very simple cut and he gave me bangs with a noticeable line through my hair all the way down my head after I asked him to "smooth it out". This was by far the most disgusting and
