Customer Reviews
The only good thing about the Exchange is they do a price match for local competitors —Walmart, Amazon; check the site it gives more info. You can also price match for your online orders! The above info is VERY important as the exchange does not have a lot of products. Compared to my previous overseas bases this would rate a 4/10 for quantity of items. There’s also the options to get items shipped from Fort Bliss bka ship to store. This is a great option if you don’t want to drive to El Paso and can wait a couple days. If you are looking for furniture/appliances they have a small section. Nothing to write home about however, if not in store you can order online & get it delivered.
I love heading to base when ever I can, the BX here has a nice lay out and selection.
The exchange itself is small and has some items but there is a lot lacking. For example look towards any other BX. The items sold inside aren't the worst issue, the real issue comes with the food sold inside. There are very few options and they are extremely lack luster especially when you can get the same options out in town besides Charles. Not only that everything within that building is closed most of the morning and close very early into the evening. It is not worth going unless you really NEED to.
Smaller base but still had an exchange and commissary that had what we needed. 100% ID check is in effect as of today. Was clean and signage was easy to navigate.
For a BX exchange to service our military families, this place is poorly maintained , there's nothing worth shopping for here, very limited clothing and shoes for both men and women and there children, and because Alamagordo has nothing to provide other than Walmart for clothes and accessories , young airmen and families are dependent on their base stores to provide for them.
