Holy Chic + Co | A Non-Toxic Nail Experience

This review is LONG overdue, since I’ve been coming to Holy Chic for over 6 years! I’ve always loved getting my nails done there — they do quality, long-lasting nail care that always looks beautiful. Every nail tech there is great and I’ve had a lovely experience with all of them over the years. Special shoutout to Kenya, as she always nails (lol) the minimalist designs I want. Overall, I am very thankful to Holy Chic and will continue to get my nails done there for many years to come :)

I’ve been a loyal client for almost five years, and let me tell you — once I found Holy Chic, I stopped salon-hopping forever. They’re a little more exclusive and yes, maybe a bit pricier than your average spot… but exceptional service usually is. And they deliver every single time. From day one, they matched me with techs based on the service I wanted — not just whoever was free. That alone told me they actually care about the health and look of your nails. Most appointments are reservation-based, which I LOVE, because the time I book is MY time. I’m never rushed so they can squeeze in someone else. The atmosphere and vibes of this nail salon are very good, but the quality of the manicure is truly quite poor. Earlier this summer I moved to RVA and was trying to find a new salon. I stumbled upon this place and decided to check it out for a manicure. I requested an appointment days in advance that was not confirmed until within 48 hours of my appointment, so I was basically locked in otherwise I’d get charged the cancellation fee. Whatever, I wanted to check them out anyway. I forget the name of the technician that did my nails, but I think she was newer/returning to the field part time after being a SAHM? My appointment started 20 min late as well. My results were patchy, and one of my friends was like “wow I could have done a better job” after seeing them. I was super underwhelmed.

been getting my manis by kenya at holy chic since 2019 so this review is long overdue! i love the approach they take to nail health, my nails always look and feel amazing after an appointment. feeling like i'm hanging out with friends is just an added bonus. everyone does increible work and i could never go anywhere else!

-Honest review- They’ve got a cute set up for both their nail + skin locations. In terms of design + quality I would give them a 4/10. I decided to give these guys a second chance at a gel mani, and went in recently to their new storefront. I was booked for a special as they call it with pre-set designs. Three hours later, I left with a half done set. My nail artist didn’t nail the pre-set design, I saw the design on the first hand and asked her if we could change it. Staff is very kind, but my assumption is that they’re not trained well. It was a nice pedi shaper etc but unfortunately the design was not good. I still paid for the special $85 with tip (which is mandatory). Anyways! I think this was my last time going there, I wish them luck.
