I've been seeing Emma at Jon Richard Salon in Cranston for the past year but have followed her from different salons for almost 4 years! She’s a color goddess and expert! I came to her initially for a better haircut (which she totally delivered on) and since then I’ve had her cutting and coloring my hair, most recently transforming my hair into a beautiful and dimensional balayage (twice this year). I have long hair down to my mid to lower back so if you’ve got a ton of hair and are thinking you can’t afford to go that often, she’s VERY reasonably priced for the high quality of service that you’re getting. On 6/4/25 Nicholas performed a hair miracle on me! After my long time hairdresser passed away and also having my first child, it took me over a year to muster the courage to find a new hairdresser. I conducted endless research of reading reviews, and looking at photos and then I stumbled upon some of the work that Nicholas has done and I made an appointment! I walked into the bright and airy chic salon and was greeted with a friendly warm and welcoming face that belonged to Nicholas! My hair was hidden under an old baseball cap as it was absolutely atrocious; a complete abomination. My highlights had grown out over 9 inches and my dark roots were taking over my entire head, my ends were split, sparse, and straggly and I felt like I didn’t know who I was anymore when I looked in the mirror.

UPDATE: Nicholas has been doing my hair for over a year now! He’s fantastic and I would never dream of going to anyone else! Still highly recommend both him and this salon in general. First photos are from a year ago and the second two are from today. Nicholas did an amazing job on my hair! I came in with uneven brassy highlights and left with this beautiful perfectly blended balayage! 😍 The salon is beautiful and all of the staff were friendly. I would absolutely recommend this place to anybody in the area!

I’ve been a client for several years, but unfortunately I won’t be returning. I had to rebook because my previous stylist no longer works there, and when I called to ask for a recommendation, the receptionist suggested Emma. I booked with Emma and came prepared with realistic, inspiring photos of the exact balayage look I wanted. The technique she used was extremely different from anything I’ve experienced before, using saran wrap instead of the classic teasing or sectioning method I’m used to seeing and applying bleach in large unblended patches on each hair strand. The service also felt very rushed, which made the overall experience stressful instead of enjoyable. During the wash, brushing, and blow drying, I found her to be unnecessarily rough.
