Julia Dominican Hair Salon

Stylists are great but shampoo girl is terrible and does not know how to detangle hair. She detangles hair from the root to the ends and literally rips your hair from your scalp. I've been going to the Dominicans for years. I used to go out Essex but moved on this side of town. I have no issues with the stylists but I've never had anyone comb my hair starting from the root. And then proceeded to scrub my scalp as hard as she possibly could. I couldn't even enjoy the hairstyle because i left with a sore scalp from the washing and detangling of my hair. I will not continue to come here because of this.

I’ve been going to Julia’s for years. Always love my experience. Started taking my girls there as well. I’m natural and they keep my hair looking good. I always have my 4c curl after washing. Very affordable prices and kind staff!

I've been the salon twice. The first visit was great. No issues and I received a silk press. The second time I went when I arrived the lady that did my shampoo made a comment about my hair being thick. I explained how I don't get perms and that I've always had thick hair. So she processed with washing my hair and then Ana pressed it. A few weeks after my hair appointment I decided to get braids rather than going back to get a silk press. I washed my hair and I noticed that there was a strong/chemical like smell. After washing my hair I noticed that my hair was excessively straight (especially the ends).
