Kathy's Dominican Beauty Salon

I went to Kathy Dominican Hair Salon for a simple blowout. I have natural hair that has been treated with hair botox, so my curls are looser and less frizzy. My friend, who got a roller set, perm, and blowout, was only charged $45, while Kathy wanted to charge me $60 for just a blow-dry. When I asked her about the price difference, she claimed a roller set with a blow-dry costs less — which doesn’t make sense since that service actually requires more steps and electricity. On top of that, when I requested a heat protectant before the blow-dry, she told me the conditioner already had it in it — which simply isn’t true. That response made me feel like she thought I wouldn’t know better. I left feeling frustrated, overcharged, and dismissed. I will not be returning and do not recommend this s

Came here for the first time and had a great experience. Last time I straightened my hair was 5 years ago so I was nervous. She did a great job! My hair looks perfect. I got a traditional Dominican roller set and blow out and it came out exactly as I would have wanted it.

I always go based on reviews that’s why I feel that every one counts. I read all the reviews for this location, the good ones and bad ones. I did have a nice feeling about this place so I went to try it today. Once you enter the salon you can feel a peaceful vibe. She’s the 3rd person I tried in Stamford and this time around I’m staying here. I also come from New York and after moving to CT it’s hard to find someone as good. She is the owner and the only one that works at the salon yes but it’s worth the wait, her job speaks for her. Thank you so much again for receiving me. As reference my hair is curly, thin, and dry in the hair color I have at the bottom but she was able to manage doing a blower and no iron. Which I normally don’t iron after.
