Kentlands Salon & The Nail Bar

First, this nail bar is REALLY a nail BAR!!! My spouse and I get a monthly gel mani, pedi and brow threading done for about $112 per person, which is a fair price. And, our mani and pedi still look decent after a month. Everyone is always greeted at the reception area. Once you are seated, the technician asks if you would like wine or a mimosa. The service is better than others I’ve been to in the past. I have gone to different techs and (believe me) they all do a fantastic job. Everyone always seem happy there. They all get along so well. I mentioned to my spouse a couple of times that I love when they massage my feet, legs and hands. They ended up spending more time massaging those areas. I love this nail bar. In love with my nail set. I got it for the 3 weeks trip to Europe. Tech gave me best suggestion of color and design that helps the growth less obivous in the 3 long weeks. Not only that, the quality is off the roof. Still smooth and flawless after I came back from the trip. Definitely will be back for my future nail done.

I'm writing this after a lot of hesitation, because this experience wasn't frustrating in a petty way...it was genuinely disheartening and deeply disrespectful. I've been to this salon five times. On two separate occasions, I drove from Arlington to Gaithersburg for scheduled appointments, only to arrive and be told that Diane, the tech I was booked with, was not in that day. No call. No text. No heads-up. The first time, management said they didn't have my phone number, and the second time, I specifically gave it, but still wasn't contacted. Tried out The Nails Bar for the first time and had a terrible experience with Kim. I had a regular polish manicure and the application quality was terrible. I pointed out that the polish was streaky and lumpy and Kim got defensive and told me it was my fault, that she wasn't going to fix it if I messed it up (most nail salons let you come back even a day later to fix chips, and she wouldn’t fix it while she was still painting??), that I should have gotten gel instead of regular polish. I was polite about voicing my dissatisfaction and asking her to make changes but she was super unprofessional about it, and it was really frustrating. Finally the manager came over and did another coat of polish that at least made it look less like a home manicure done by a thirteen year old. Definitely will

I’ve been coming to this salon for over a year and get my nails done by Diane. She always does an amazing job and makes sure I’m happy with them. Definitely recommend booking an appt. with Diane!
