Lighten Up Salon & Spa

Two of my girls age 10 & 8 to be precise who have 4b,4C kinky hair needed a hair wash since their hair got longer over the years we also needed a professional cut to start a better hair journey. I came across this salon and I wasn’t sure if things will go well. Angelica was super sweet helping us make an Appointment and she recommended Alesha. I loved Alesha during our first interaction, she is so loving & listens so well ! We are so grateful for your patience, Kindness and professionalism Alesha we can’t wait to come back again and again 🙏🏾🫶🏾

Very disappointed. I’ve been putting off writing this review, but I can’t any longer because I get frustrated every time I blow out my hair. On 2/15, I called the salon to make an appointment for a root touch-up. My natural hair color is chestnut brown, but I’ve been coloring it jet black for over 20 years. When I called, I was told that the stylist I had seen a few times had left to start her own business and that they could schedule me with someone else. I agreed — a jet black root touch-up should be a very straightforward service. I even said those exact words when asked what service I needed. When I arrived, I was introduced to the stylist who would be doing my hair. As we walked to her station, she asked what I was having done. I again said, “Just a root touch-up — 01 Jet Black.” Af

This is how my $220 “highlights” came out. Unfortunately, the salon has severely gone downhill over the past few years after many of their stylists left to start their own salons. While the prices continue to rise, the quality of service has noticeably declined. After my most recent poor experience, I won’t be returning.

I’ve been going to Lighten Up Salon for about a year now, and it’s always been a great experience. I regularly get my hair cut by Carol—she’s truly amazing! For my recent wedding, Elvisa did both my hair and makeup, and I couldn't have been happier. She took her time, listened carefully to everything I envisioned, and made any adjustments I asked for without hesitation. Thanks to Elvisa, I felt absolutely flawless on my big day. My mom also had her hair and makeup done for the wedding by Dee, and she looked stunning. Even more importantly, she felt beautiful—and couldn’t stop talking about how kind and warm Dee was throughout the entire experience. I got my hair done with Josh! And I absolutely love it! I came in and was a little nervous about getting bangs, which would be a completely new style for me. But with out fail he made them flawless!! I absolutely adore my new look! Along with the beautiful haircut, he did an amazing job fixing my box dyed hair. I absoulety adore Josh's styling and can't wait to book with him again!
