I visited Lotus for a simple, no-frills haircut—just a 1.5 on the sides and a light trim on top. Frank, the stylist (and owner), instead gave me an extremely short and uneven fade. I had to repeatedly point out areas that needed correction, but the results only got worse. Things escalated quickly. When I saw the haircut going south, I told Frank to stop and that I wouldn't be paying. At that point, he locked the front door, got in my face, and aggressively demanded payment. He even told me to take off my glasses—implying he wanted to fight. Not wanting to escalate the situation, I asked how much he was charging, and he demanded $40—despite my previous haircuts at this salon costing around $25.
