Marvelous Divine African hair braiding

I usually don't leave reviews but I would like to speak on my experience. For the price she charges the quality can be better. She portrayed as if she was giving me a discount when every other shop around the area charges $20 less and provides the hair. The size supposed to been medium they gave me large braids that look like plats. The braids were loose and appears to look like they been in for a week after day 2. I initially was about to leave once I saw the quality of the other customers hair but I thought maybe it was because of her hair texture but in actuality they just don't do good work. They originally started trying to make excuses about my hair and the oil I used and the owner became very rude once I questioned her about my hair and started yelling when I was on the phone.

I went to Mariam today and got medium knotless goddess braids. They look beautiful, and she even ran to the store to get the right hair for the tendrils. Mariam has a really nice, clean salon space, and she was super communicative when I was setting up the appointment. I don’t know many people in the area, so I just Googled “braiding in Virginia Beach” since I didn’t know anyone to provide a referral. I glad I found her and would absolutely go to her again. I recommend her services to anyone who wants a fast, clean, professional braiding experience.

Just got my hair done at Marvelous African Hair Braiding (same shopping center as subway). I absolutely love my hair and it was affordable!!! It was a combination of Christine and Mariam who did my crochet. My hair is full and my head isnt poundng from being cornrowed too tightly. These are two wonderful and beautiful women inside and out! Their personality shines and you feel welcome. Great music, laughing, & conversation. It is a wonderful atmosphere and I feel blessed to have found these ladies! 😍❤ Not to mention the barber Cheyenne (yes a man) on site is sweet and easy on the eyes if you catch my drift!😉

I recently went to this shop for the very first time and I am not impressed or pleased. I went here to get medium sized, mid back length box braids done around the early part of July. Before coming here I looked at all the reviews thinking that this place would be top notch.. that wasn't the case at all. First of all the stylist her name is "maryum" charged me $200 for my braids which is wayyy too much for some simple box braids, for that price you would think a truly talented hair braider was about to really hook you up. Secondly it was just her doing my hair and it took her 7 hours to do my hair, she started at 9:05am and ended at 3:45pm. I do have thick hair but for it to be 7 hours that is just ridiculous. She took some small eating breaks, but didn't ask me not once would I like to

Their customer service was great. But for the price I paid for my hair for the quality of it was ridiculous. I got my hair done on the 17th because I had a couple things going on one was my nephew graduation which was the 19th 😒 so in 2 days my hair should not have looked like I had it in for a week or so then I had a trip planned for the 24th to Vegas which was exactly a week from when I got my hair done it looked like I had it done for months smdh. My family was looking at me like I was crazy after I told them how much I paid and my usual hair stylist said “they was African braiders?” Yes she said it looked like a beginner teenager did my hair 😫 I will not be returning I’ll stick to my side of the water.
