I love coming to see Pat when I am in New Orleans. I first got my hair cut by him before a fancy wedding that was being held at the Ritz last year - and the concierge there suggested I go to Monteleone Barber Shop for the trim I requested. Stepping into Monteleone Barber shop is like stepping back in time (although doubtful a woman would have gotten her hair cut there in the 1940s) and Pat has an amazing plant that should not be alive because I don't think it has ever been repotted but it thrives where it is. I am sure this is not important to most guys who go in this barber shop (maybe I am being sexist) but the plant is a highlight. I walked around looking for a barbershop. My first time in New Orleans. Great place. Owner has been there 48 years. You can learn a lot sitting in the chair for 30 minutes. Cash only. No issues there. Great little place. True Barbershop.

I just received the single worst haircut and beard trim of my life. Couldn't salvage the beard (or mustache). Just got finished shaving both off. I left without complaining, because I didn't have the stomach to tell the kind old man to his face. That's on me. But the rest of you deserve the warning, and if he reads this, I'm sorry, but it had to be said. I have shoulder-length hair. This man, bless his heart, has no idea what to do with hair that long.
