Let me start by saying I leave good reviews often, this is first negative one I’ve had to leave. I went to Nappstar thinking they believed in taking care of the client but I know now they’re just about making money to open up more locations. I booked an appointment for microlocs. I even did a consultation I was specific in what I wanted but here I am a year later taking them out. DK did the install. She’s is a lovely young lady but these are not microlocs. She started them from 2 strand twists. Initially I liked them I couldn’t see anything wrong but after about 6 months into it I noticed the back felt more thick and like traditional locs. There are many things I appreciated about this experience. First I was able to get a next day appointment, after my routine Loctitian fell through. The ease of being able to book and get your hair done is unbeatable. You are able to book online which is nice that the books are provided for you to browse through and select a time that works for you. The lady that did my hair did a phenomenal job keeping my grid neat and organized (which is my biggest thing personally). She also did the retwist quickly and efficiently and I didn’t have to sit under the dryer for ages lol. The hair oil at the end of the service is the best part. As I sit in this chair getting my locs reattached, the song "The Second Time Around" by Shalamar runs through my head. Almost two years ago, I had my locs cut off after 14 years. I did so because I realized I never knew the actual texture of my hair. As a little girl growing into a woman, I went from press-and-curl to relaxers to a short fro to locs. My favorite place to get ny hair twisted. Most affordable in the area with the best service. All of the stylists are talented and a delight to talk too. And they have such a variety of options for your hair and treat it with as much care as they do their own. I couldn't recommend this place enough.
