New York African Hair Braiding

WARNING: These are horrible braiders. My mother told them during the session that the braids are too tight and the braider continued to braid them tighter. This lady did my mother’s braids so tight that she consistently has to take pain meds and got aloe spray to try to relieve the pain from her scalp. This is how your hair gets damaged and broken. My mother is NEVERR going to these ppl again before she loses all her hair from how tight those braids are

This is what I got for $250. Messy and uneven parts, and the hair in the back is not fully pulled into the braids. Can’t even style my hair how I want. One of the other ladies did my hair and the owner saw it and didn’t say anything. I sent her pictures and all she said was she’s never had complaints about her. Outrageous prices for mediocre work.

I called, she asked when I wanted it done? I said today. She asked if I could be there in 30 minutes and I arrived in 24 minutes. She styled it, just as I asked, My only complaint is it's tight

This place is so unprofessional! If I could give it negative stars I could. My fiance had an appointment at 9am this morning and no one was there. We literally had to drive over 30 minutes to this place that says it's hours start at 730am. We called the lady and she answered the phone like she was just waking up. She said she was only 4 minutes away. 25 minutes later we call again and she answered the phone with an attitude. You can hear a child in the background and once again she claimed she was only 4 minutes away! For one...how do you get an attitude when you are the one not at the location at the time a deposit was sent for. Oh yea we didn't get our deposit back either. I don't recommend anyone to do business with Fanta Doumbia because she is very unprofessional.

I had a booked appointment for 2:30 Sunday afternoon, this lady sends me text at 8:49 am on the same Sunday morning wanting me to reschedule to 9:30am. I'm 1hr away and definitely can't make it. I try calling her before I leave my hse but she doesn't pick up. I still drive all the way to her shop and the response she's trying to give me with attitude is trying to convince me that I was on the wrong!!!!!! For not being at her shop at 9:30 instead of 2:30 !!!!!!
