Wonderfully calm, and pleasant atmosphere. The owner is very professional and makes sure her clientele are treated with the utmost respect. They care for natural hair with great concern, and do not pull any punches. Sometimes the clientele envisions themselves in hairstyles damaging to their naturally coiffed hair. She does not bite her tongue when it comes to professionally and courageously telling her clients of the consequences to certain things others are doing to their hair, or want her to do to their hair, that may be harmful to the naturalness of their hair, or damaging to their scalp. I appreciate that... And I respect that. I'd rather have someone tell me the truth, rather than hold their tongue just to make money at my expense. Nubian Hair Studio is not about making monies at

The service was great! I felt really comfortable getting my hair washed. The stylist was a great conversationalist. My only issue was the price change, I asked how much a wash and just a blow out ( no silk press) would be on the phone and was told $67 then got there and it was $88. Besides that the experience was great. If you want the basics I would advise to go somewhere a bit cheaper but if your getting an actual silk press I would advice to book since they are natural hair focused and won’t give you heat damage.

My mom and I had such a wonderful experience at the Nubian Hair Studio! We started off with a consultation with Key and told her what type of style we were each looking to do. She was thorough and made sure we understood what the process involved. Key worked on both of us. My mom decided to do a new color and cut to a shorter style. I decided to get crocheted passion twist. Everyone was so friendly and very professional and the owner Alice made us feel at home. I would definitely recommend this place and if I could go beyond five stars I would! They work on all hair types especially natural, and they are skilled in different types of hair styles. Make sure you call ahead to make an appointment because they are in demand but they will try their best to work with you.

I love this place! Great customer service, friendly, clean, love the overall exceptional experience. All of the employees have a wonderful spirit. Worth every penny. Big ups to the owner! This is my second time at Nubian Hair Studio with Key as my hairstylist. I relax in Key’s chair, because I can feel confident that she is knowledgeable about her craft, cares about my well-being and feelings about the style, and genuinely cares about my hair—and my life. Also, the salon has a welcoming ambiance: from the music, to discussions, to moments of quiet, I always feel good while I’m there and leave feeling satisfied.
