Ocoa Dominican Hair Salon

I’m from GA & was here for work. I was looking for a clean, local Dominican salon nearby. I got there at 11:30 and only had 1 hour in a half to spare. These ladies were the sweetest kindest stylists I’ve met in a long time!!!! She washed my hair immediately & had such a warm spirit!! She was done by 12:45p!!! I love how healthy & bouncy my hair looks!!! I will definitely use them anytime I come back to Albany!!

My experience took place a little over 7 months ago in late May of 2024. I took me way too long to leave a review because I was hesitant since I had been there a few times and my hair had been just fine (until my very last visit). However, I realize now that I was doing a disservice to people with coily/Afro textured hair like mine (some would could it 4C). After getting my hair washed, blow dried, and flat ironed here, I had to shave off all of my hair a week later because of heat damage. When I went to wash my hair, it was falling out in chunks and it smelt burnt and like rotten eggs.I literally shaved my hair down to about half an inch and I STILL had some strands that were straight . Please be warned that if you have Afro-textured hair or curly hair, it’s only a matter of time before

Never go to this place. I went with my natural 4c hair and I left with heat damage and my hair falling out. I went for a wash and blow dry. I asked and I was very demanding that they used heat protection in my hair. They said they would but didn’t. I went back and showed the owner my hair and insisted on a refund and she said no. She tried to give me an another appointment for free. I paid 80 just to leave with my hair ruined. NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE!!!

These two lady’s destroyed my hair I came in for a wash & set and they completely destroyed my hair I don’t recommend this place they don’t know how to deal with curly hair

i came here a few times. But I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT. As much i hate to say it because i love supporting small businesses. They fried my long curly hair. So much breakage. Soon i wet my hair, IT SMELLS LIKE ROTTEN EGGS that lasted dayssss. (I dont get my hair done often) so the smell of rotten eggs. I was soo confused, my boyfriend washed my hair soo hard and so many times, the smell still lasted 2-3 days. I did not go outside. You could smell it.. i was balding from the front and sooo much breakage and hair smelling like egg right after i wet it. My curls were DEAD! never AGAINNNNN im coming here. Literally cried writing this. Is been weeks since i came here and they dont even know how long it took me to just grow my hair, and for her to do this n im sure she knows shes doing this to ppls h
