Old Valley Pike Barbershop

I had an incredible experience at this barbershop this morning. I made an appointment and walked right in—no waiting around. The barber got started right away, and the whole place had a great old-school, classic vibe that made it feel really authentic and welcoming. I got a haircut and a beard trim, and he absolutely nailed both. The attention to detail was impressive, and he used hot towels and a straight razor for the finish—something you don’t get everywhere. It was easily the best haircut experience I’ve ever had. I left feeling refreshed, cleaned up, and honestly kind of spoiled. Highly recommend!

I recently made an appointment for Old Valley. I was in Luray and was searching for a regular Barber Shop, not a "salon". I found a true traditional Barber Shop. Jimmy has a beautiful shop that had all the features that are true to the craft! I made the appointment with Jimmy, but he was busy when I arrived. I was promptly seated by his assistant, Becca. What a wonderful experience! Becca took her time, did an excellent job! The best cut I've had in quite a while. I highly recommend this shop. I will be back when I'm in the area!

One of my residents had their hair cut there. My resident's hair grows in a whorle and has a natural cowlick in the back. His hair was on the long side so cowlick did not stick up but hairdresser/barber did not consider this when trimming. My residents hair looked nice until he washed it and back of his hair stuck straight up and you could tell it wasn't the best cut. I told my boss to never take him there again- I have always taken him to Something Different here in New Market. His cowlick never sticks up after one of their haircuts. Might be nice for traditional barbershop-resident did enjoy atmosphere but I and his sister hated his haircut.

Finally, a true barber shop. I'm driving 30 minutes for a hair cut and it is worth it! It's hard to find someone that will do a proper flat top. Thank you Jimmy for setting up shop in New Market. One more reason to visit this great town.

I had a fantastic experience at Old Valley Pike Barber Shop! A high level barber shop has been sorely missing from the Luray/New Market area in the few years I've lived here, and Jimmy's business fills a huge need in the local community. The haircut, shampoo, and shave were all excellent, and the shave was the best I've ever had without a doubt! The aesthetic and design of the shop was spot on, and Jimmy's care for his craft and attention to detail were clear for all to see. Easy 10/10.
