On October 1st, I arrived at Salon Elan with high expectations for the “Silk Press Experience” with Michelle. And while it was indeed an experience, it wasn’t the one I anticipated. The salon itself made a solid first impression: clean, calm, with soft music and a relaxing atmosphere. Michelle greeted me politely and got started. However, from the shampoo bowl onward, things quickly shifted. Given that this was my first visit, I expected a bit of dialogue, an overview of the products, a sense of the process, or at the very least, a conversation about my hair. Instead, aside from a quick question about whether I’d recently had braids, there was little to no engagement. WOOOW WOOOW WOOOW!!!. PORTEA “TIA” is EXACTLY who she thinks she is. This was my first visit and it was nothing short of amazing. Tia was patient with me and answered any questions I had about the service I was getting. Down to the products that she was going to use on my hair. She also talked to me about after care as well. The salon is beautiful. Very clean and spacious. I went into the salon looking unrecognizable lol. But left looking like the beauty that I am. My appointment was at 8:30 and I was out at 11:30. Tia dont know it yet but we are besties now because I will most definitely be back.

I feel bad putting this review as it affects the owners who deserve better especially , Tia,who stepped in and resolved the situation with her stylist promptly and professionally. As for her stylist Andrea, she deserves zero (0) stars. Looking at the braid-down in my photos, it is painfully obvious that Andrea does not take pride in her work and has no regard for her clients. I originally booked a 1:30 PM Sunday appointment for a U-part install through StyleSeat. She later messaged me asking to reschedule because she “had errands to run,” so we agreed on 10:30 AM instead. On her booking page, Andrea clearly states that wigs should be brought in prior to the service for consultation. BEWARE: The price for the service I selected (sew-in) increased by $75 once I booked the service online with Heidi. I called the shop immediately to cancel the appointment. I spoke with Tia who says she was the Salon owner who advised that since the appointment had not yet been confirmed that it was no problem to cancel the appointment. Unfortunately the salon still took my $82.50 deposit and refused to refund it. They also failed to communicate to me or follow-up about my request to be refunded. They got over on me. I will not patronize them again. I have been at that salon numerous times and spent $$$. I have heard them laughing at customers who call about there deposits. They think it is funny to take our money for doing nothing!!! Unprofessional salon.

Yall this is the only place you need to go for hair and nails. The girls are so fun and everyone just sits and visits like we used to back in the day. If you have inspiration or need help figuring everything out, these girls are super super helpful. There are a lot of places that do hair, but try this place once and you'll be back.
