I used to get newspaper delivery at home but, changed to digital due to the high cost. I hardly read the digital paper and so called a few months ago and cancelled my subscription from the next renewal date of April 2025. I just had a charge of 49.00 on my bank account. I called today and spoke to customer service at Savannah morning news( in the Philippines) and they told me that the previous agent had not cancelled my digital subscription. He told me that I had to trust him and he was going to cancel it. HE COULD NOT SEND ME ANY CONFIRMATION THAT MY SUBSCRIPTION HAS BEEN CANCELLED!!! HE ALDO STATED THAT HE SUBMITTED APPROVAL TO HIS SUPERVISOR FOR A REFUND OF THE MONEY THEY TOOK FROM MY BANK ACCOUNT. He could not send me confirmation of that either! This newspaper has become garbage. I had problems cancelling. Gannett kept charging my card. I cancelled again, and filed a BBB complaint. They lied to BBB about voice recordings of a cancellation made at a later date. Spoiler alert: No voice recordings exist. I have never spoken to anyone over the phone . All my interactions have been online. Anyhow, what a garbage company to deal with. I filed a CC dispute, and fortunately, the CC company is refunding my money, Gannett has run the paper into the ground, Garbage company to deal with

I am not happy with the refund process. I am waiting almost 2 weeks for the refund. The answer was they sent me a check. i cancelled the subscription on Sept. 27 today is Oct.10 and I was just told that the check was sent Oct. 5. Still waiting it is coming from Augusta just a few hours down the road. Cancelled due to poor reliability as to when the auto payment was being taken. Due on the 15th was done on the 26th. Not exactly on time. Gee they cancel if you are late.

I haven't received a paper in about two weeks but yet payment has been deducted from my account. My paper is wet half the time and I ask several times for a box when I subscribed two years ago and still haven't gotten one. Everytime I call I get a recording saying no one is available to accept my call. Leave a message. How many messages are you suppose to leave? Very poor service.

I wrote a review on Oct. 10 when I was told the check was in the "mail" as of Oct. 5. Today is Oct 15 and I guess it is still in the mail sure not in my mailbox or checking acct. They tried to tell my my debit card would not accept the refund they "tried to process". NOT TRUE never tried to process it and I do not believe that they sent the check. If not received by Wed. Oct. 18 guess I will have to get help with getting my refund of $54.00. Over charged with sending magazines that I do not want.
