The company advertises a “clean and stress-free environment,” but that was not our experience. Before booking, I asked on Facebook for recommendations for a place experienced with toddlers—specifically a 2-year-old with extreme anxiety around haircuts. Multiple people recommended Sharkey’s, so I felt hopeful this would be a positive experience for my son. Unfortunately, the stylist, Bekah, was very firm and assertive and not understanding of my son’s emotions. She appeared frustrated and treated him as though he were much older and capable of understanding the importance of staying still, which is not realistic for a 2-year-old with anxiety. I'm super conflicted to be honest. Where my youngest first hair cut went amazing and it looks good for the fact that he moved around alot. My oldest haircut did not have such a great outcome. It wasn't noticed until we got home and he showered but his bangs are completely lopsided and uneven. I can't even begin to express the heartbreak I feel for my kiddo right now. His hair is his biggest confidence so for him to come to me crying because of this outcome has been crushing.

We love bringing our 2 boys to get their hair cuts here! Marci is amazing and got our 3 year old to sit calmly for his hair cuts. The 3 year old loves the cool cars he gets to sit in while the 7 year old sits and plays video games during his cut. They both get lollipops and balloons after. Everyone is so nice and patient. We love it!

Went to get tinsel in my daughters hair, they called round 2:45pm to let me know that the stylist would not be available to do her hair at 5:05pm. I asked what other times they had available and they said 3pm or 5:35pm. We opted for the 5:35 since fifteen minutes wasn’t enough to get out of the door and to the salon. I asked if it would be helpful if we washed, blow dried and straightened her hair to be helpful and the stylist we had complained the entire time that it was late and that the salon was closing. She said “it’s just so late”, “good thing I have child care and my husband can watch my kids otherwise this would be really inconvenient” “we are closing so soon”. Our first hair cut for our 2.5 year old went amazing! Our stylist was soo patient with our son as he took time to get comfortable. I appreciated her willingness to layer our son’s hair without cutting much off and I feel like she listened! Thank you for a great first haircut for our family!
