Sharkey's Cuts For Kids - Durham, NC

After trying six different salons for my five-year-old, this is the only place where he actually felt comfortable. He usually hates clippers and cries through haircuts, but not here. Teisha was so patient and kind. She really met him where he was and made it feel safe. For the first time, he just sat there and let it happen. The space is great too, it feels more like a little play area than a salon. I even brought my three-year-old, and she happily walked around watching TV while we were there. They finished with balloons and lollipops, and both kids left happy.

Teisha at Sharkey’s was absolutely amazing! She was so kind and patient, and immediately made me feel comfortable trusting her with more than just a simple trim for my girls. Both of my daughters have mixed hair with completely different textures, and she handled each of them with so much care and confidence. Within minutes I knew they were in great hands. They walked out with layered cuts and feeling like they had a true salon experience, smiling from ear to ear. I highly recommend Teisha and Sharkey’s for anyone looking for an incredible kids’ hair experience! At the end, she gave each of them a token to place in one of the charity boxes of their choice. We took my 23 month old son for his first haircut and it was an AMAZING experience! Kristy was wonderful and made sure my son was comfortable the entire time, and she did a fantastic job with his hair cut. I really loved that they offered a “first time haircut” package that included a certificate with the date, a lock of his hair, and printed before and after pictures for us to cherish for life! My son also really liked that they had themed chairs to sit in and that he got to pick what he watched during his hair cut. The only tears were when he had to leave his paw patrol car seat when the hair cut was over!

We loved our experience at Sharkey’s! Teisha was absolutely amazing for my four-year-old’s very first haircut. She made the whole experience so special; wash, cut, blow-dry, a minicure, ring, a balloon, and a lollipop. It truly doesn’t get better than that. Teisha was incredibly patient and treated my little one with such care and kindness. We’re so grateful for the experience she created for us and will definitely be returning!

Teisha was amazing. My daughter came in for her first haircut and she loved it. She watched YouTube while getting her haircut and once she was done she got a balloon at the end. The whole process was fun.
