Sharkey's Cuts for Kids - Meriden, CT

Emily was great. She was so friendly and knew her stuff. She did her best with my son who is autistic. She was patient with him and got him to trust her and she was able to get the edge up done. The salon was beautiful and they had cool toys for the kids to pick from for purchase. I will definitely be going back again.

Almost 40 bucks and under 15 minutes for this terrible haircut. Made 0 effort to make him comfortable and just started hacking away with clippers as he cried. He settled down in about 10 minutes, she then cuts that wobbly crooked line across the front and declares it done. No trim around the ears, awful "fade" job with bald patches and uneven everywhere. Puts him down with shoes and pants full of hair, then charges me for "wash, cut, and dry" when only one of those things was done. I ask about it and she says "yeah". Went back in right after to voice my complaints, she offers to fix it, I declined. If you're capable of doing better why didn't you. No offer of refund. We will continue going to Tantrum for 20 bucks where they work to make the child comfortable and would never put out garbage

I will never take my sons anywhere else from now on. The place itself is so fun and cute, so professional and clean. They have a fire truck, a police car, a spider man race car, and an Elsa/frozen themed jeep for the littler kids to sit in, with tvs and toys and lollipops and balloons for distraction. For the older kids they have video game consoles too. The staff are always so nice and patient and professional. My kids struggle with haircuts but they are so used to dealing with challenging haircuts it’s no big deal. I used to dread getting their haircut and now it’s like a fun outing. If you have the chance definitely try this place out!!!

Emily is amazing! She is very attentive to my child’s needs and very kid-friendly. For example, she demonstrated how she uses the blower for cleanup before turning it on and made sure he was okay with the noise so he wouldn’t be startled. Got his favorite TV show on and kept him comfortable the whole time! Hair looks great! My kiddo doesn’t want to go anywhere else for an hair cut!

This place is GREAT for children of ALL ages. My child has an aversion to scissors and still created a great Fade for my 7yo child.. The stylist was accommodating, friendly, kind and patient with my child and me. This my new hair cut place for my Spectrum son.
