Sister Aminata Africa Hair Braiding

If I could give negative stars, I would. I dropped my little sister off to get her braids done and these people proceeded to braid down her thoughts & memories. She has never been tender-headed, so her being in so much pain could only be from how tight they braided her hair. We took them out after 3 days and now she has a bald spot in the middle of her beautiful, thick hair. She is heart-broken and has not stopped crying. And of course this shop only cares about making money and not about customer service because there was no concern or desire to rectify the situation. Avoid this place if you can, and go where you and your money will be respected.

This is the worst braiding experience I have ever gotten in my life. I’ve been getting braids since I was 2 and this whole experience was a mess. First the braider arrived an hour later. Secondly, after I l told the braided she was braiding too tight and she still continued, I assumed it would subside but it did not. I had to take the hair out after 4 days and it left this bald spot. I asked for a refund and the manager not only yelled at me but informed me that she did not care to hear what I had to say. If you love your hair or yourself do not continue to go here.

Thank you, Sista Mama Seta, for doing my hair last minute, accommodating the style I wanted and getting me in and out of your chair in an hour and a half so I could make it on my cruise to Bermuda.

Unfortunately, the customer service completely threw the whole experience for me. When I brought up serious concerns with the braids I received, there was no attempt to understand where I was coming from or work toward a solution. Instead of offering accountability or even a partial refund, I was met with defensiveness and attitude. The lack of professionalism and unwillingness to address issues is enough for me to say I would not recommend this service.

My braids didn’t last more than 7 days because of how tight she braided. I have very thick hair but I literally have a bald spot now & my edges are goneeee. Very disappointed in the service especially after repeatedly telling her to not braid super tight.
