SOMI'S DOMINICAN HAIR SALON

They were busy but great service they took their time and conduct service with a smile. 1st time getting my hair professionally braided and she took care and did a great job on my head. My wife comes here to get her hair done as well and I'm glad because I wouldn't know about this shop if she didn't. Thank you for incredible service across the board and look forward to coming back again for your services.

I was skeptical about trying a new place because I am selective about who I allow access to do my hair but I was looking for a Dominican hair salon closer to where I live since I just moved. Now onto my experience……So I called Somi’s 2 days prior wanting to go in to schedule my appointment and get info. The person I spoke to was nice and told me I didn’t need to schedule an appt and said I could just walk in. I asked how much it would be for the services that I wanted (color and trim) and she couldn’t even give me a price she just told me to ask for the price once I got there. I decided to give them a try and walked in on a Thursday so it wasn’t busy and they sat me right in the chair to start. I showed the person a picture of the color I wanted which had 2 color tones. Somi is a professional and tries her best in order to accommodate you. The rest of her staff is simply RUDE, UNEDUCATED and UNPROFESSIONAL. Hence only the two stars. I came in yesterday 12/31/25, at around 3:30pm, it was my first time. I normally stick to the same hair dresser and HATE going to public salons. Unfortunately, my current hair dresser who works from home was booked. When I came in no one acknowledged me or said anything. It was Somi who greeted me eventually after she was finished with something she was doing. I’ve been going to Somis for years and love her to pieces so much so that I moved away and everytime I come back I go to get a blow out. This Christmas I came into town to do my usual and she had a woman that was new . She secretly put perm in my hair and I have never had a perm before in my life and didn’t ask for one either . She saw that my hair was fluffy what I came in but any hair stylist can feel the weight of my hair and tell that it’s fine and only fluffy when it’s dry . Needless to say I have been having to watch combs full of hair come out and by the power of prayer , aphogee, a Mexican rosemary shampoo is my hair fall slowing down tremendously . I will never forgive that , if she wants to take short cuts and not work she should go else where . I am looking into legal action

My daughter just got boho braids done here. They look beautiful and were done insanely fast. The price was very reasonable, and it was incredibly easy to make an appointment. We will definitely be coming back regularly.
