The deep tissue, 60 minute massage was great. I would definitely return. I didn’t hear all of the noise from the streets of NY. I would suggest that staff maybe be shoeless to a certain extent. I heard the sounds of sneakers against the ground during my massage and the massage of the guy across from me (there was a small pull close door between him and I. Guessing they also use the space that I was in for couples massages). Also, though I didn’t hear any noise from the street, I did hear the microwave being used a few times, and someone eating their lunch and cleaning the dish right after. Nice quaint place. Just need some sound proofing of the breakroom and no noisy, squeaky shoes being worn in the “waiting area”, massage rooms.

I truly enjoyed the spa. It is up some stairs, but the most cutest facility once you enter. All the staff were amazing, tentative and kind. Zoe really knows her stuff. She gave me one of the best hip opening massages I’ve had in my life. I got the full spa package with the full body, mud wrap and body scrub along with the Massage. Once I rinsed off, I was softer than ever. My feet feel great my body feels great. I’m ready to take on the world ! Totally recommend !

first off, a couples massage here costs about $80 per person, when you can walk a few blocks in Times Square and get the same service for $50–$55. that alone should’ve been a red flag, but we were already there and decided to go through with it anyway. the massage itself was fine, nothing that made us think “this is our spot.” it did the job in the moment and that was it. what happened afterward is the real issue. we left what we believed was a generous tip, only for the owner to suck her teeth and tell us it wasn’t enough. she then physically grabbed my bf by the arm in an attempt to stop him from leaving. i could not believe she did that! that is literally assault! and completely inappropriate! she then pointed to a sign stating there was an additional service percentage fee on top of

I had an amazing experience at Spa 56! I booked a massage, body scrub, and body wrap, and everything exceeded my expectations. The massage was relaxing yet thorough, the scrub left my skin incredibly soft, and the body wrap was so soothing and rejuvenating. The staff was professional, friendly, and made me feel completely comfortable throughout the visit. The spa is clean, welcoming, and truly a hidden gem in the city. I walked out feeling refreshed, glowing, and completely renewed. Highly recommend!

Do not go to Spa 56. I tipped 20% and the spa director still pressured me to tip more, repeatedly asking if I could add more on my card. It was uncomfortable and honestly humiliating. I booked through Groupon and they also added a “service tax” at the end that wasn’t clearly explained. The so-called Korean body scrub was sloppy and nothing like an authentic Korean scrub. The room wasn’t even properly stocked — the lotion bottle was nearly empty. Terrible service, aggressive tipping pressure, and not worth the money. Save your time and go somewhere else.
