Customer Reviews
I've been getting my color done by Becca Kraeger and cut by Jason Zeren for over a year and have nothing but wonderful experiences every time! The whole salon team is so friendly, thoughtful, and intentional with their work. The space is clean, beautiful and bright, and I always feel so relaxed and taken care of during my appointments.
was really excited for my appointment after seeing a haircut on an influencer and decided to book. The stylist was very kind, attentive, and we had great conversation, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, I was extremely disappointed with the actual haircut. I didn't realize until it was too late that the main technique being used was heavy thinning from the roots. I already have fine/thin hair, and this left my hair looking significantly thinner than before. I can literally see through my hair now. Given the $200 price point. I expected a more customized approach based on hair texture and density. I trusted that a stylist at this level would know what techniques to avoid for thin hair. I left feeling really upset and regretful. I'm sharing this so others with fine or thin hair can ask very
Worst blowout I have ever gotten. I have thick hair and specifically asked for a voluminous, 90s-style blowout. The stylist seemed to understand what I wanted right away—I even showed her a photo for reference. What I left with was half-blown-out, frizzy hair. It was obvious more time and passes with the brush and dryer were needed to smooth my hair. Either she have the training required for thick hair or want to didn’t put in the extra effort in for thicker hair. The latter seems likely because my hair so visibly not done. When I asked her to go over it again, she did, but it made little difference so I paid and left. I ended up having to redo my hair myself at home. A complete waste of both time and money. Do not come here for a blowout. I even reached out to share my feedback and neve
Walking into Spoke & Weal might have been the worst decision I've ever made in my adult life. I got my hair botched so badly it took over a year and a half to get back to (semi) normal. I had to cut over 10 ft of hair off to salvage what this stylist did to my hair- she thinned it out SO much I had no hair left. Went from super long hair to a bob that I never wanted. I pray for the day this chain goes out of business. I beg everyone to read this review and stay away from this horrible horrible place. There are so many great salons in NYC where stylists actually have skill and would never think to thin out someone's hair.
Tamani Thomas is an absolute BOB MAGICIAN! She did my initial big chop when I first got a bob and has since done the maintenance, and I swear she breathes new life into my hair every time she touches it. Will probably never trust anyone else with my hair, she just understands the vision
