Found my new nail spot!! Duc was fantastic. Very kind, attentive and open to whatever I wanted for my nails. I’m so impressed! The vibe inside is super welcoming and fun as well. $80 for this set. Definitely coming back!

My friend and I went in yesterday. The service is good, but these are the worst nails I have ever had. My friend said the same as well. I have acrylic almond shaped with gel paint. The gel looks lumpy, some of the nails are misshapen, like only my pinky nails match. My cuticles look terrible as well. I spent $83 total and I had to leave in a rush due to needing to be at another appt in 15 minutes. I was in the car driving when I started noticing how bad the paint job really looked. This place seems to be better with designs on longer nails. My friend got 2 leaves on his middle finger and you can feel the leaves stinking up through the clear coat. There was no care to make the sticker smooth to the nail. He also was more interested in the leaf being painted, but was dismissed.

Might have been the worst experience yet. I got in and asked for dip nail and got sat down at a table. The first person came over to me ask then ask if I wanted acrylic fill. I said no I want dip. So she’s assigns someone else to me and they all start talking about me wanting dip. Then I get a new person who is persist that they will give me the best nails but it’s a new way to do dip…. She starts doing acrylic on me. (I know it’s acrylic because my other nail tech back home was texting me about what they should and should not be doing)I ask her three times to stop and do dip(she doesn’t) she gets all the way done and I ask her again and she gets mad and starts taking it off. She doesn’t get it all off then starts doing the actual dip process. (After she ripped my cuticles with a file) so

I’ve been coming to sugarcoat since they opened over 2 years ago and love the attention to detail, level of concern (when I may have an issue which is very rare), professionalism, and also genuine fun that they have brought to the RVA area. Emily has been my preferred nail tech and is such a bubbly, fun, and gentle person. I’ve also had my nails done by Duke, Michael, Selina, Tina, and Jasmine numerous times and would recommend them for anything!

I normally don’t leave bad reviews but unfortunately I had to this time. $93 for a full set of gel builder (not including tip I left…)… they charge $15 to cut cuticles, file nails, and give a “massage”— massage was less than 10 seconds then they wiped off all the lotion. I’ve never had to pay extra to receive a literal basic manicure before. I can maybe understand playing close to $90 for acrylics but seriously my nails look clumpy and $93 is astronomical for the terrible service I received. I’ll be going back tonight to get them fixed by a different person. Will update if they look better. I just hate how they can’t even give a partial refund. Such a scam. Wish I didn’t tip. Update: have to update because I feel like the manager Tina did everything she could to make this right— I went ba
