My first and last time here. Took the lady 28 minutes for a NEW FULL SET of acrylics - all other nail techs usually spend about an hour on a brand new set. I asked for almond shape and they are SO pointy and shaped like little acorns. I’ve been getting acrylics on and off over the last 8 years - this is my worst set yet. Following this extremely quick manicure, I waited nearly 25 minutes patiently in a chair for someone to finally come do my pedicure, though I had scheduled it in my appointment ahead of time. Don’t tell your clients yes if you don’t have time. Nobody apologized, just let 3 of us sit there waiting. Then I got the worst French tip pedicure I’ve ever been given as well. Bumpy and lopsided lines. Surely won’t be returning here - extremely dissapointed as these are for vacation

I recently stopped into Sugarhouse Nail Bar for a regular manicure and pedicure. The shop itself is pleasant, clean, and well lit — a nice environment overall. Unfortunately, my experience with the services did not match the setting. The pedicure was mediocre at best. The nail filing was uneven, and the polish application was clumpy and streaky. During the manicure, the cuticle care was well done, but again the nail filing was uneven and polish application lacked skill and attention to detail. It appeared streaked and uneven. By the next morning, polish on two nails had already started lifting. Because of that — along with the visible streaking — I returned and asked if they could repolish them. They agreed, which I appreciated. However, the second polish application was just as uneven,

Claws: $45 / 10-15min / walk-in, seated immediately. Came in to get some claws put on for a costume. Nails were prepped with a Dremel, cuticle cut, foundation polish, and file. A layer of gel was applied to the top of my nails and the underside of my claws. While each claw was being pressed on and put under a focus UV light, they had me placed other hand under a wide UV light. Other than a stray bubble here and there from the gel application. Pretty happy with how it turned out.

Of the seven times I’ve gone here for a powder dip manicure, four times I’ve had a flawless finish that lasted more than three weeks (and I’m a very active person - skiing, living weights, and not shy about opening cans with these nails). One time, the manicure only lasted two weeks. Another time I left because they didn’t have either of the colors I chose that day. And the last time I left because I made an appointment but didn’t have time because I ended up waiting 35 minutes (which is the same wait I expect going without an appointment, so I’d say not to bother calling ahead). Most of the ladies who work here take their time and do a great job.
